2026 Ft Walton Beach - Day 1 - Fri, 6.12.2026

Murfreesboro, TN to Cullman, AL

  • Day 1 - Jun 12

    • We left the house at 2:30 PM to pick up mommy. We were on the road at 2:45 PM. Waze took us an alternate route on US 431 to bypass the rush hour at the 840/65 split.
    • Once we got on US 431, Waze tried to take us back on 840, but then Pawpaw thought it was a glitch. We went 431 to June Lake Blvd, then got on 65 from June Lake Blvd. Our first stop was Logan's in Athens, Alabama. They have Potter fire alarms. After we ate, we went to Buc-ee's in Athens, Alabama. Buc-ee's has system sensor I series fire alarms. When we were going to our hotel in Cullman, there was a crash on 65 at the 565 splits. Waze didn't take us on an alternate route. We had a 10 min delay. When we got to our hotel, Pawpaw checked in and the hotel had system sensor l series LED fire alarms. We got to our room, then I went to the exercise room and the pool.

Cullman, AL to Ft Walton Beach, FL

    •  We left the hotel at 7:45 AM in the morning, we arrived at Peach Park at 9:15 AM. After Peach Park, we were on the road again. We stopped at a Wendy's in Greenville, Alabama to have lunch. After lunch, we were back on the road to the beach. Waze took us on Sunnyside St off AL-55. We stopped at a grocery store to get gas. After we got gas, we had another alternate route by Waze. The route was Walter Martin Rd. NE to Beal Pkwy to First St W then Harbor Ave to Miracle Strip Pkwy. But there was a problem, there was a stop sign instead of a red light on Harbor Ave, so Pawpaw took a manual alternate route so he could turn left at a traffic light. But we had to sit in traffic for 20 minutes. When we got to our condo, we checked in. The condo had Spectralert advances and classics and Potter fire alarms and system sensor l series strobe only in the bathroom. We had dinner at Angler's; they had a wedding at the restaurant. After dinner, exercise room once again. We watched Price is Right on Tubi. After that, I had bath, brushed my teeth and went to bed.
