Join a wonderful journey of discovery through the historic city of Kona and along Hawaii's beautiful sun-drenched Gold Coast. Departing from the pier, your route will take you past ancient temples, fields of coffee and macadamia nuts, as well as breathtaking coastal scenery. Hawaii is world famous for its rich blends of Kona coffee, and a stop at the Kona coffee house gives you a chance to sip the flavorful brew while browsing through the shop and exhibits. Enjoy the breathtaking sea views of Kealakekua Bay. Another highlight of this tour is St. Benedict's historic Painted Church, noted for its colorful murals depicting biblical scenes. Then get ready to discover Old Hawaii at Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. This Place of Refuge has served as a political and religious sanctuary since ancient times and is home to the sacred Haleo Keawe Heiau, a temple that once housed the bones of deceased chiefs.

Go upcountry to the home of Hawaii's cowboy, the Paniolo. From the pier, you will travel through historic Kona and along Hawaii's beautiful sun-drenched Gold Coast. Your guide will point out many historic sights, pausing at Kailua's Mokuaikaua Christian Church believed to be Hawaii's first Christian Church. You will pass Hulihe'e Palace, once the summer home of Hawaiian royalty, en route to the ancient Royal Heiau called PuŽukohola. This ancient temple, said to have been built by the great King Kamehameha I, is now a national historical site. Leaving the coast, you will head up the verdant slopes of dormant volcano Mauna Kea to Waimea and Kohala cattle country. Here, the rolling green pastures are home to the 220,000-acre Parker Ranch, Hawaii's biggest ranch, and the Spanish-trained cowboys who work there, called Paniolo. The ranch was founded over 150 years ago by John Palmer Parker, and grew from two acres granted by King Kamehameha III. You will visit the Visitor Center, where displays detail six generations of Parker family life. Highlights of your visit include a call at Mana, the Parker's original koa wood cabin, and its later replacement, PuŽuŽopelu, filled with precious art works and Venetian glass collected by Parker heirs.

Drive through Kona's coffee country, visit a plantation and learn the history of this famous product. The coffee tree was introduced to Hawaii in 1828 as an ornamental plant, but quickly became the crop of choice. After years of hardship, Kona coffee now ranks as one of the world's premier gourmet coffees. Step back in time at the Uchida Coffee Farm. This working coffee farm was established in 1913 and has been restored to depict farm operations around 1865-1945. Interpreters explain life on a working coffee farm, using authentic period machinery. Sample seasonal farm-grown fruits as you discover all about the everyday life of a family on an old fashioned coffee farm in Kona. Then visit a modern day coffee mill, and follow the modern process from orchard to mill to roasting room. To cap off your experience, sample a cup of premium 100% Kona coffee.

Treat yourself to a walk in the cool forest above Kailua-Kona. As your air-conditioned van departs from the Kailua Pier, your naturalist guide will provide you with relevant natural and cultural information about the area. A surprisingly short distance from the arid coast is a lush cloud forest on the slopes of the sleeping volcano called Hualalai. Here at 3,000 feet, you will find yourself in a private peaceful sanctuary that nurtures plants, birds and the human spirit. A variety of rescued birds (caged as required by law) entertain you with their splendid beauty and greetings. Your walk takes you along unpaved trails through the native forests and among palm trees, ferns, blossoms and bamboo from around the world. Let your senses be soothed by the cool air, the song of wild birds and the thousand shades of green. Your guide will provide information about the wide range of botanical specimens and the area's geography. Later, relax on the lanai, enjoy a snack and savor the feeling of having visited one of Hawaii's very special places. This tour also offers a brief visit to an organic coffee roasting facility where you can sample world famous Kona coffee at an award-winning farm.  Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age, in good health and capable of comfortably walking 1 1/2 miles on uneven natural paths with ascending and descending slopes. Enjoy Kona's underwater paradise without getting wet! Cruise along on Marian, a 36-foot glass bottom boat specially designed to cruise within inches of the reef. Have your camera ready to capture the colorful fish, corals and other sea creatures. Marian is designed with shaded comfort and clear viewing, and as you cruise along, you'll enjoy breathtaking vistas of the island's rugged shoreline. Step forward to the bow and you might see frolicking dolphins, (humpback whales, Dec-April). Throughout your adventure, the onboard naturalist will share tales and legends that evoke the magic of the sea and Hawaii. This is a perfect add-on to your day in Kona!

Don't miss this unique experience to see the marine life of the Kona coast and ancient historical sites; this is a great tour for all to enjoy. Relax on the shaded main deck or enjoy the upper sundeck while cruising the 15-mile shoreline of the Kona coast. A professional naturalist/historian will provide a narration on the marine life and wild dolphins that surround these waters, (humpback whales Dec-April), and along the shoreline, tell you of the historical points of interests for the best photo opportunities. Climb aboard an Atlantis Submarine! Your adventure begins with a seven-minute boat shuttle from the Kailua-Kona pier along the scenic coast. At the underwater site you'll transfer to the submarine to begin your undersea adventure. Atlantis Submarines offer the world's most technologically advanced passenger submarines with spacious air-conditioned interiors, large view ports and comfortable seating so you can relax and enjoy Hawaii's sea life. In crystal-clear waters, the submarine will descend 100 feet underwater to explore 25 acres of coral reef gardens. The reef was formed on lava that flowed into the ocean 18,000 years ago.  Here's your chance to go try your luck in the billfish capital of the world. The calm, year-round deep-sea fishing grounds off the Kona coast teem with marlin, ahi tuna, mahi-mahi (dorado), wahoo (ono) and short nose spearfish to mention a few. Anglers from all over the globe have broken dozens of world records here. Your tour includes transportation to and from Honokohau Harbor, a fully equipped sport-fishing boat that will accommodate up to five guests, and an experienced and licensed Captain and crew. Experience is not necessary, and even if you don't catch anything, you're sure to reel in some wonderful memories.

Kayak along the scenic Kona coastline and black lava sea cliffs to Kuamoo Bay. Along the way, see some great sea caves and giant lava tubes; you may even sight the playful dolphin or a green sea turtle! Then jump in the water in a protected cove to snorkel and see some of Hawaii's marine life up-close. Don't worry beginners, a friendly and knowledgeable guide will greet you and provide you with basic paddling and snorkeling instruction and safety information. After your fun day of kayaking and snorkeling, you will make the return to the pier via air-conditioned van.  Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age and in good physical condition. You should expect to paddle at a moderately active pace for approximately three and a half miles round trip. We recommend you wear a bathing suit under light clothing, sensible shoes and bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a waterproof camera and a towel. Snorkeling gear and safety vests are provided. This adventure tour takes you to beautiful Kealakekua Bay, the only marine sanctuary on the Big Island of Hawaii and site of the Captain Cook Monument. The 24-foot RIB inflatable raft provides an exciting shore-hugging ride down the Kona Coast. Your Captain will entertain you with Hawaiian folklore and history of this area. Keep your eyes open for the spinner dolphins, green sea turtles, and manta rays which frequent these waters, (humpback whales in season, Dec-April). Your scenic raft adventure brings you to Kealakekua Bay, where you can swim and snorkel in protected waters. Hear the story of Captain James Cook, the famous British navigator who lost his life here in 1779, and his encounters with the Hawaiians. On the return ride, you'll explore sea caves and lava tubes and learn more about the geology of the island.  Note: Participants must be at least 4 years of age. Come aboard the trimaran Body Glove and cruise the Pawai Bay, a protected marine preserve of gorgeous coral reef gardens filled with an array of colored tropical fish, endangered sea turtles and wild dolphins. Along the way, enjoy a breakfast of freshly baked pastries, tropical juices, island fruits and Kona coffee. The Body Glove features a spacious upper sun deck, a large shaded cabin, fresh water showers and bathrooms. A 15-foot water slide and high-dive platform are a big hit, great fun for everyone! What could be better than sailing along the beautiful Kona Coast and meeting the resident Hawaiian spinner dolphins, while making your way to Pawai Bay! You will receive snorkel gear and personalized instruction. The underwater topography is amazing, filled with corals, lava cliffs, valley arches and caves. Once in the water, look for rainbow colored reef fish, endangered sea turtles and the elusive manta and eagle rays. After snorkeling, sit back and enjoy the tranquility as light winds fill Kamanu's sails as she glides over Kona's brilliant blue waters. Discover a beautiful reef with a great variety of tropical fish, turtles and other marine life on this easy introduction to diving and Hawaii's underwater world. Upon arrival at the beach, your Snuba guide will outfit you with all your gear, followed by a 15-minute orientation, then a practice session in the shallow water lagoon prior to paddling to the shoreline reef. The dive proceeds at your own pace and your experienced guide accompanies you throughout the entire experience. Discover Scuba is easy, fun and exciting. Join your PADI Scuba instructors for a 30-minute lesson about the basics of Scuba to familiarize yourself with this new environment. This is followed by a session in the shallow-water lagoon to practice the skills you just learned and to become more comfortable with your equipment prior to paddling to the shoreline reef. The dive proceeds at the participants' pace and your instructor is with you throughout the whole experience. This is a very safe and easy introduction to diving and Hawaii's underwater world. Swim past colorful reef fish, turtles and beautiful corals. Don't miss this opportunity, its like leaving one world and entering another!  Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age and in good health. Maximum depth is 40 feet. All gear is included. This is not a certification program. Guests while diving, as per PADI standards may not use waterproof cameras. THIS TOUR IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

Coffee, Chocolate and Vanilla! Par 72, yardage 5,128-6,938, slope 117-133.The North Course is characterized by rolling terrain punctuated by Kiawe (mesquite) forests. Par 72, yardage 5,067-6,875, slope 117-134. Enjoy one of the best views of the spectacular Kohala Coast from the new Hapuna Golf Course, an Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay design. This 18-hole championship golf course is nestled in rolling natural foothills that go from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. The course offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean while majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kohala Mountains form the backdrop of an unforgettable links-style experience. Par 72, yardage 4,810-7,034, slope 114-136. Golf on the slopes of Mauna Kea, 2,000 feet above the Pacific in a beautiful mountain environment. Rolling fairways and numerous water hazards make this a challenging course for all level of players. The undulating bent grass greens are in excellent condition and the signature par 3, 17th hole, features a true island green. Big Island Country Club is at a higher elevation than other courses, so don't forget some warmer clothes. The South Course, renowned as the former home to the annual Senior Skins Game from 1990-2000, snakes through the stark, rugged a'a lava of the prehistoric Kaniku lava flow. Besides great golf, the course offers a panorama on mountain and ocean views. The South Course is also home to No. 15, one of the most photographed over-the-water golf holes in the world. Anaeho'omalu Bay, or "A-Bay" as the locals say is a natural marine life preserve and one of the most beautiful beaches on the Big Island. The sand is a salt and pepper mix of coral and volcanic rock, and the entrance to the beach is through a lava desert. Your beach blast begins with a 30-minute scenic drive via air-conditioned motorcoach displaying views across the unique lava fields of the Kohala Coast. Upon arrival your experienced and friendly beach crew will be there to greet you and assist in getting you out to enjoy the unlimited use of all the fun beach toys and activities available. Whether you want to try your hand in kayaking, snorkeling or biking across the sheltered bay on floating hydro-bikes, the day is yours to enjoy. You can even enjoy the underwater world of Anaeho'omalu Bay by boarding the glass-bottomed boat with a fully narrated tour over protected coral gardens viewing unique tropical fish and endangered green sea turtles. Note: We recommend you wear your swimsuit with a cover-up, and bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, towel and a camera. A water cooler will be provided throughout the day along with a delicious box lunch consisting of a sandwich, chips and soft drink. Easily accessible public restrooms and fresh water outdoor showers are available on site. Some water activities depend on water conditions and for safety reasons may not always be available. The Beach Day will be supervised by beach staff and a lifeguard. As you set sail, enjoy a light lunch while your onboard naturalist/historian provides you with a narration on the coastlines historical ancient sites, marine life and wild resident dolphins that surround these waters. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery as we top off the day with some local Hawaiian entertainment. Don't forget your camera!  Note: Wear light comfortable clothing and bring along sunscreen and hat. Join us on a rocky ramble off-road adventure up to the cool and misty lavascaped slopes of Hualalai Mountain. Our Pinzgauers are fast and fun, taking us from sea-level to 6,000 ft, where a surreal scene of black lava flows and native dryland forest awaits. See firsthand the geologic forces which created our islands at the heart of Hualalai's 1801 eruption, Ka'upulehu Crater. We'll travel to magnificent coastal viewpoints and stunning lava formations, before exploring the mountain by foot. Walk amidst a forest of native birdsong and scramble through a lava tube - Hualalai has it all! Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age. Please wear comfortable clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. This tour is not recommended for those with back problems as the off-road route is bumpy. Pregnant women not allowed.

Soar over Kona and get a bird's-eye view of Hawaii's Big Island. Parasailing is fun, safe and easy, and a unique way to see all that Kona has to offer! You can fly solo or with a partner over the Big Island. The departure takes place directly at the pier so there is no transportation involved. At the end of your parasailing adventure you'll be returned directly to the pier. Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age and weigh no more than 350 lbs.

For an all-around Hawaiian adventure, come visit the heart of the North Kohala countryside. See how people throughout history have lived off the power of water, from the terraced taro lo'i of Hawaiians to the historic irrigation ditches of Kohala sugar plantations. In a land of Hawaiian legends and stunning natural beauty, we will take a quick four-wheel drive up the mountainside to our trailhead. Along the trail you'll discover two mountain streams, three footbridges, seven waterfalls, and restored ancient Hawaiian terraces. Step into ancient Hawaiian terraces replanted where taro once grew, swim in a cool mountain stream with cascading waterfalls overhead or simply relax in the tropical foliage near the mountain stream. Upon arrival at Anaechoomalu Bay, your experienced crew will greet you and lead you aboard a world-class sailing catamaran for a once-in-a lifetime journey to the secluded coral gardens of the Kohala Coast. Our experienced Captains will take you to a remote black sand beach. Join our knowledgeable guides for a personalized tour of the reef, encountering unique tropical fish, and perhaps an endangered green sea turtle. When you are back on the catamaran, enjoy cold drinks as you set sail back to the bay. Upon your return to Anaechoomalu Bay, you will have time to enjoy kayaking, hydro-biking or just relax on the beach. A boxed lunch is included.

Get behind the wheel and guide yourself through one of Hawaii's gorgeous islands. You will be escorted from the ship to the location where your selected vehicle will be awaiting you.
